Well, this weekend had all types of drama. On Friday the team we should have beat (we lost 15-14) won the state championship easily. Then in a series of crazy events that included an athletic director for the school and the district AD calling me multiple times I still didn't know if I would have to drive a shuttle bus of wrestlers up to Payson for a tournament. At 4:30 the next morning I seriously was praying that their would be a bus driver as it was pouring rain. Lucky for me their was and all the drama of the previous night just went away. It was snowing as we pulled into Payson. It is fun to see how all the valley kids react to seeing snow. I thought it was cool but after shoveling a few tons of it you don't get quite so excited. I find it very interesting that no matter what sport I deal with the young kids freshmen/sophomores are more excited about eating out after the event then the actual event!
So Sunday comes along and everybody still has the sniffles at my house. Tyli is still running a fever so Jami stayed home with her. Dallin really thinks it is cool to drive in Dads car so he was disapointed when we took the mini van. After church I decide not to work on all the stuff that is due by 8:00 AM Friday to finish my NAU class and spend time with the family. It is very frustrating to be away as much as I have been lately. Between wrestling meets, football, church responsabilities, and homework I am sure that Jami feels like a single mom. I really am excited for this winter break!!! As a side note I need to put a little plug in for my wife. She is awesome. Not very many mothers would get all the kids ready to go to so many sporting events. I tell her she should stay home but she says no. She wants to support me in what I am doing. Our kids have more Higley school spirt then most of the students. They walk around cheering go big blue and Mckades favorite song is "we will rock you". It is awesome to see her up in the stands and see the kids waving. If not for her and her dedication I would not see them nearly as much as I do. So Jami when you read this I love you and thanks for what you do. Moving away from the mushy stuff, when I am home I get attacked by the kids. Their favorite activity seems to be to just sit on dad like I am going to float away. This usually turns in to a tickle fight. When I have had enought tickling we turn it on to mom which I am sure she appreciates. Jami has become quite the wrestler and I have to be careful when I sneak up on her. I may have shown her too much!
With the upcoming week of two wrestling matches, a football banquet, two test for the classes to write for the classes I am teaching plus study guides, a school and ward christmas party, as well as a final I have to complete for my NAU class, I was still able to find time to take Jami out on a date this upcoming Friday. It should be great, I will have to let you know. So I hope you are all have a wonderful Holiday season and remember Santa knows if you are being naughty or nice!!
