Look out for the Metro!
As I go cruising around town in my Chevy metro I look at all the trucks around me and shudder to think about how much it must cost to fill them up. I also make myself think about this when a 16 year old girl drives by me with a fully loaded lifted truck that Daddy bought her. I try to convince myself that it is much nicer to have a metro. It doesn't always work. Anyways at times I pull up to stop lights and I am instantly blinded by headlights of bigger vehicles who are much taller. Stuff like this happens a lot. Last week I was driving home and a car must not have seen me. It started to switch lanes and was about to either hit me or force me into the median. I waited to honk at the car longer then I usually would because it was a Maricopa County Sheriff's police car. I don't make it a habit to honk at police officers I don't know how much they would appreciate it, but I didn't feel like trying out my airbags so I let the horn blare. I didn't use any inappropriate hand symbols or anything like that I just didn't want to get hit. He immediately swerved back to the middle lane and accelerated away. When I pulled up to the next intersection and we were both turning left. This intersection had two turning lanes and I was one lane to the left and one car behind the police officer. The officer lowered the passenger side window and began to back up until our windows were even. He had a very serious face maybe even a little stern . He looked at me and said "Sorry, I must not have been paying attention" I told him no problem as I have a little car and it is hard to see. He said have a good day rolled up his window and pulled forward. I thought it was nice of the guy to come and say he was sorry. So remember when you on the road in your vans, trucks, suburbans, or what ever, keep a look out for silver Chevy Metro's. Those hamsters under the hood can only run so fast and my feet get too hot when I have to stop too fast.

Glad you were ok. Ryan used to feel the same way driving in the aveo all the way to Tempe and back everyday. I however really wish we still had it. Great on gas, paid off, what could be better! Just keep your eyes wide open for everyone else!
I can relate the year or so I drove the Aveo nothing more than an glorified updated version of the metro I felt my life was in danger every day on the way to and from work. I felt more afraid driving that car than my motorcycle. At least people could hear me coming on the motorcycle and if they didn't I could speed up and out of the way most of the time. Stay safe!
