We really do love the Christmas season and all that goes with it. However, since I have been working installing Christmas lights it is not quite as fun to hang my own. Our home looks fine but I don't go around announcing to the world that I work part time hanging lights. I promise the homes I work on look better then mine. The second thing I wanted to mention was our tree. Jami and I had only been married a little over 5 months and we bought this tree on sale at
Walmart. That was 9 years ago and the tree was cheap then. It has not aged well. Each year we decided it is time for a new one, but it always gets bumped down on the list of what we really need to buy. The tree almost didn't make the move with us but we dragged it over with us to our new house. With a new baby coming and my car deciding to need some major repairs we once again resorted to the good old tree. It doesn't look half bad when the room lights are off and you can only see the warm glow of the Christmas lights. Unfortunatley our cheesy blinking plastic star that goes on top of the tree broke last Christmas. Sometimes I wonder if it was really an accident. Jami, I believe, has disowned the tree and doesn't really want to touch it or have anything to do with it. The kids helped me decorate it. If you look closely at the picture below you will notice an interesting pattern in the decorations.

Every ornament that is within the reach of Tyli has been placed with in a 2 foot square area. She takes them off and has put them all back in the same spot. She has learned to be careful with them, but we really do need those ornament spread out to help block the tree behind it.
We do love our tree and thankfully our kids are little enough that they still think the tree is awesome. We'll see how long we can still get them to believe that. I don't know that our family will cry however when this tree comes down for the last time.
