Somehow I made it through the first few weeks of track and I am still here to talk about it. If I hear one more lame excuse or whining I might just go crazy. What ever happened to yes sir, no sir? And since when did shin splints or a sore muscle become a life threatening injury? It is a good thing that none of these kids run track for Coach Paiguish. He would make you dry shave on the track if you came to practice with a little bit of scruff on your face.
We had our first meet on Thursday a Dual meet against AJ. I officiated my first pole vault event and no one died so I think I am doing pretty good. All my vaulters cleared at least one height. No height doesn't count in case you were wondering. On Friday we had a big meet that included 19 other schools. I am now realizing that as a pole vault coach you don't get to see much of the track meets. I was in pretty much the same place from 1:00PM until 10:00 PM. My kid won it with one jump. It is great to have a super vaulter it just makes for some long nights. So this Saturday was the first Saturday I have really been home for in a while. So 5 hours of yard work was in order. Dallin and McKade were good helpers so we decided to go out to the recently opened Taco Bell /Long John Silvers restaurant. This always seems like a weird combo to me. You walk in to get a taco and the whole restaurant smells like fish? I introduced Dallin to the double Decker taco since it is only 10 cents more then a regular taco. He thought it was pretty cool that they would put a taco in the middle of a burrito. McKade had a melt down in the middle of the store and Jami took him out for a few minutes. When he came back everything was great as soon as I gave him my burrito to eat. We had some coupons for Bahama Buck and had a really enjoyable evening.
Today we had church in the Gary building for the first time. It is really small when you switch over from a Stake Center. I never leave the chapel. Sacrament, Gospel Doctrine, and Elders Quourm are all in the same place. We now have church at 2:00 PM again. I think we have only attended church before 12:00 for 4 months in the last 4 years. I hope we get early church sometime in the near future.
This week should be busy as usual. We do have something to look forward to. Jami and I (maybe Jeff if he gets a date) are going to hike Flatiron. I think I mentioned it earlier. Well we really are going to go as long as Grandma is up to watching the kids. We pray that she can get all that she needs to get done for her trip back to Georgia done so she can help us out. If not we might have to push it back again. Anyways when we go we will make sure to take pictures.

to prevent shin splints have them walk around the track two times walking heel toe everyday. It builds up the front muscle and prevents shin splints. Glad everyting went well and you guys had some fun together.
